The year of 2017 has witnessed the Denmark-China Tourism Year. In March, the Danish Foreign Minister with staffs of the Danish Tourism Bureau once came to Hangzhou, to whose citizens they introduced and promoted Denmark’s splendid tourism resources. For the goal of better bilateral communications between Denmark and China as well as promoting Hangzhou’s tourism resources in the post-Summit period, Mr. ZHUO Xinning, Vice Director of Hangzhou Municipal Tourism Committee, led a promoting delegate which consisted of representatives from Hangzhou Commerce and Tourism Group Co., Ltd, Hangzhou Huanglong Hotel, Hangzhou New China Travel Agency, Zhejiang China Travel Agency etc., to Copenhagen and host an introduction and promoting conference there. They interacted and communicated with over 40 local travel agencies so as to advertise Hangzhou’s tourism resources in the post-Summit time.

While Mr. LIU Dong, Counselor of the Embassy of the P.R.C in Denmark, made his attendance in the event, Philip Kyhl, Business Director for China of Copenhagen Tourism Bureau, conveyed expectations about China-Denmark tourism communication to him.

Themed with “Hangzhou the most memorable place”, the conference focused on depicting changes in Hangzhou after the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit. With a diversified presentation style and abundant materials, it introduced to the present guests Hangzhou’s World Cultural Heritages represented by the West Lake and the Grand Canal, Hangzhou’s human landscapes embodied by silk, tea and Buddhist culture, Hangzhou’s newly-designed night recreation activities such as the singing and dancing performance “Hangzhou the most memorable place” and light shows, as well as Hangzhou’s conference and awarding facilities represented by the International Exhibition Center and all kinds of high-star brand hotels.

Apart from introducing Hangzhou’s new changes and new tourism products, representatives from travel agencies also shared their ideas, taking the “Meeting in the Scenery—the Hangzhou International Conference Developers and Their Opportunities” activity carried out in September, 2017 as an example, on how to combine Hangzhou’s all sorts of tourism resources like history, culture and modern business sceneries to connect them into an integrated travelling route, and eventually, to create indelible memories for the tourists.

Amazed by the luxuriant and detailed content as well as the delicate and exquisite charms of southern Yangtze River Delta, lots of Danish attendees interacted with Chinese companies one after another with the hope to better understand Hangzhou and come to this city in the near future, so as to help promote more outbound travelling routes and products to Hangzhou.

The Hangzhou tourism promoting delegate will next participate in the 56th ICCA Congress. They plan to take more communications with professional organizers on conference and awarding tourism. Also, on the Congress they will set a special promoting zone of “Summit Hangzhou” in order to deepen the acquaintance of conference organizers, who are from both home and abroad, of Hangzhou to be an “international conference destination”, and eventually, improve Hangzhou’s influence in the conference and awarding area.
