China National Silk Museum, near the West Lake in Hangzhou, is one of the first state-level museums in China and the largest silk museum in the world, covering an area of 50,000 square meters and a building area of 8,000 square meters. Here you can learn to weave silk from professional teachers.
Located inside Du Jinsheng Silk Weaving Factory, Dujinsheng Brocade Museum is the first museum of its kind in China. Occupying over 7,000 square meters, the museum consists of six showrooms for the history of brocade and the founder Du Jinsheng, varieties of products, raw materials preparation, silk weaving, product designing, operation demonstration, and DIY. Also available is a special garden for five well known mulberry trees, in which you can learn something about sericulture.
